The ACS publication inChemistry Magazine (see https://www.acs.org/content/acs/en/education/students/college/inchemistry.html ) is interested in including a "safety tips" feature in its content. The audience for this magazine is student members of the ACS, so they are presumably upper level undergrad chemistry majors and early grad students. For this reason, the editors are interested in pointers that are more subtle than are typically found in introductory chemistry texts and which are relatively specific to kinds of lab work these audiences will be conducting.
They have asked for DCHAS help in identifying safety tips likely to be of interest to this audience. The tips should be limited to 300 characters and will preferably have a image and up to 3 URL's associated with them. Your name will be associated with the tips so that the editorial staff can follow up with questions about them when necessary (my experience is that the staff does a good job identifying ambiguities in what I think is crystal-clear prose I've written).
I will be happy to act as a conduit for these tips, so feel free to send them to me and I will enter them into the inChemistry database. Also, since the magazine publishes quarterly, I can post these to the DCHAS-L for the benefit of the DCHAS-L membership more frequently.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.
