And the VOC/dust issue is part of why the requirementsare that 20 feet around the face of the booth all the wiring must be Class 1, Division 2. And no ordinary electric equipment or lights can be in that area either. See 1910.107 and NFPA 33. Note that a sprinker head(s) must also be in that booth.

Good point. It is in a separate room from the wood shaping area.

I've seen systems that do; some of our teaching labs have a similar amount of air moving through them.
