While reviewing the scheduling for summer session, I ran across the following language in the class schedule grid, used by students to sign up for lab sections
(this is just applicable to chemistry lab sections Ð what other departments to, I don't know):
ÒStudents must be prepared to participate on the first day of lab meeting with the mandatory dress requirements including: approved laboratory coat, safety goggles,
closed-toe, closed-heel shoes, and clothing that completely covers arms and legs. Personal protective equipment may be pruchased at the UCD main bookstore.Ó
The stuff you find sometimes, whilst looking for something else É

Please don't drag us back into the contact lens debate! Contact lenses are safe to wear in lab, making sure proper safety eyewear is also worn. If you need
references (going back a decade or more), check the archives.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Lab PPE Update and Request
Hi all-
I want to thank you again for your help and response on the LAB PPE response to Yoga or Synthetic Pants and exposed ankles. We would like to make a major overhaul to the safety language in our department. I am reaching out to the group
again for some additional help. If anybody is willing to share some proper language or examples of proper PPE rules for undergraduate college labs. I would really appreciate as we make some major changes to reflect these small details. Also does anybody know
the exact language about contacts under safety glasses? Is is allowable or not? Thanks for all your help and guidance.
Thanks,
