Now Available: Final IRIS Assessment of Trimethylbenzenes
Notice: EPA's Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) Program has finalized the IRIS Assessment of Trimethylbenzenes (TMBs). This assessment provides information on three trimethylbenzene isomers: 1,2,3-TMB, 1,2,4-TMB, and 1,3,5-TMB. The Toxicological Review and other accompanying documents have been added to the IRIS website, including the interagency science discussion draft assessment (Step 6), interagency comments, and EPA's response to interagency comments. IRIS Program Job Announcement: Biologist/Toxicologist Position Available
Notice: EPA's National Center for Environmental Assessment (NCEA) is seeking qualified biologists/toxicologists with the relevant combination of academic and professional experiences related to genomics, metabolomics, proteomics, high-throughput data, and new data technologies to join the Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) Program as a systems biologist. The IRIS Program supports EPA's overall mission to protect human health and the environment by identifying and characterizing the health hazards of chemicals found in the environment. The IRIS Program develops state-of-the-science health assessments that are used by EPA's program and regional offices, as well as organizations at the state, local, tribal, and international levels, to inform decision-making. Now Available: Draft IRIS Toxicological Review of Ethyl Tert-Butyl Ether (ETBE)
Notice: EPA's Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) Program has released the draft Toxicological Review of Ethyl Tert-Butyl Ether (ETBE) for a 60-day public comment period [Federal Register Notice: September 1, 2016]. The draft assessment will be the subject of the IRIS Public Science Meeting scheduled for October 26, 2016, in Arlington, Virginia. At the October meeting, the IRIS Program will provide the public the opportunity to participate in discussions regarding the draft IRIS assessment of ETBE. The key science topics for discussion are now posted and meeting registration is open. The deadline to register as a discussant on a science topic is October 5, 2016. In-person registration closes October 19, 2016. Comments can be submitted to the ETBE chemical-specific docket [Docket ID: EPA-HQ-ORD-2009-0229] at regulations.gov.
