National Library of Medicine (NLM) ChemIDplus adds internet locator link EPA CompTox
A new internet locator link, CompTox, has been added to National Library of Medicine (NLM) ChemIDplus (https://chem.sis.nlm.nih.gov/chemidplus/). The link connects ChemIDplus users to over 155,000 chemicals in U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Chemical Safety for Sustainability CompTox (https://comptox.epa.gov/dashboard/about).
The interactive CompTox dashboard is part of a suite of databases and web applications developed by the EPA interactive Chemical Safety for Sustainability (iCSS) Research Program (https://www.epa.gov/aboutepa/about-chemical-safety-sustainability-research-program). These databases, dashboards, and apps support EPA's computational toxicology research efforts to develop innovative methods to change how chemicals are currently evaluated for potential health risks. You can access over 720,000 chemicals in CompTox at (https://comptox.epa.gov/dashboard).Other locators recently added to ChemIDplus include DrugBank (http://www.drugbank.ca/) and European Medicines Agency (EMA) (http://www.ema.europa.eu/ema/).
NLM ChemIDplus is a dictionary of over 400,000 chemicals (names, synonyms, and structures). ChemIDplus includes links to NLM and other databases and resources, including links to federal, state and international agencies. ChemIDplus Lite is designed for simple searching on name or registry. ChemIDplus Advanced helps users draw their own structures and perform similarity and substructure searches.
