I'm a member of the ACS and the Division, but I'm not a practicing chemist. Rather I'm a union safety and health rep with chemical and tox training. We represent workers in a few academic and industrial labs, but most of our members don't research chemicals; rather they use them in production, and are sometimes harmed by them. I find the list extremely useful. I'm awed by the group's expertise and its dedication to safety. Keep up the great work.

Love the list. It's why I belong to the division.
Particularly love the content from the frequent contributors.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] DCHAS-L subscriber update and list reminders
I just completed the periodic update of the DCHAS-L subscriber list based on the DCHAS division roster provided by the ACS. Sometimes this creates confusion because the ACS roster may not have the e-mail address that you prefer to receive the DCHAS-L correspondence at. If you need any help with adjusting your subscription to the list, please let me know at secretary**At_Symbol_Here**dchas.org.
As a reminder for everyone, here are the list guidelines:
Welcome to DCHAS-L!
DCHAS-L is the e-mail list of the Division of Chemical Health and Safety of the American Chemical Society. It is intended to facilitate the conduct of division business and provide the opportunity for members to make contacts with other members to share technical questions.
List membership is for division members and, on a six month trial basis, non-members interested in divisional activities. This list is moderated to ensure that discussions do not stray from its intended purpose, but no technical review of the material on the list should be inferred from this editorial process.
As this list is a public activity of the Division of Chemical Health and Safety, we expect that list discussions will be conducted in a professional tone. Information presented on the list is provided by the person writing the e-mail based solely on the information given in the question they are responding to. For this reason, e-mail list postings should not be considered professional advice, but rather helpful hints on issues to consider in addressing the question.
In this context, people who respond to a listserv posting should think carefully about what they write and what the impact might be if their words are taken out of context. While all are encouraged to have a free exchange of information, those who participate in these discussions have a responsibility to consider the impact of their response.
The list is managed by Divisional secretary, Ralph Stuart Thanks for your interest in the Division of Chemical Health and Safety! Let me know if you have any questions about this. - Ralph Ralph Stuart
