Join members of the Effective Chemistry Communication in Informal Settings committee as they present the report"s findings and conclusions at the 2016 American Chemical Society National Meeting in San Diego.
Increasingly, chemists are communicating about their work in informal learning settings such as science festivals, museums, science caf̩s, and online media--experiences that help increase public appreciation of chemistry and inspire interest in chemistry careers.
However, there are few resources to guide chemists in ways to explain their research to non-specialists. Effective Chemistry Communication in Informal Settings reviews current efforts to communicate chemistry in informal settings and draws on existing research to help chemists plan and develop effective outreach activities.
