I recall the death of Dawn Collins at Pierce College in Tacoma Washington in the late 80s after drinking saline as part of an A&P experiment. It contained sodium azide by mistake. - Jim

I recall an organic lab book with a hippuric acid experiment that instructed students to dissolve 5 g (possibly 0.5 g) of benzoic acid and drink it before bed. Collect your urine in the morning and bring it to lab.
