Wow, that's pretty steep pricing for rather limited coverage. I wonder if a general personal/professional umbrella policy would cover these activities and be a better choice for some.Rob Toreki======================================================Safety Emporium - Lab & Safety Supplies featuring brand namesyou know and trust. Dear Mr Ralph Stuart,There has been heightened awareness of the dangers of laboratory accidents and the liabilities related to chemical educators when these accidents occur. Currently the insurance marketplace offers minimal protection for chemical educators by excluding Contingent Bodily Injury and Pollution Liability from their standard educators' legal liability policies. In response to member concerns, the Board of Trustees, Group Insurance Plans for ACS members is pleased to announce the availability of the Chemical Educators Legal Liability plan. The ACS Chemical Educators Legal Liability plan was created to address the unique needs of chemical educators. This new plan, underwritten by Lloyd's of London, features:
- Liability limit of $1,000,000
- Pollution Liability coverage
- Contingent Bodily Injury and Property Damage coverage
- Intellectual Property, Sexual Harassment and Wrongful employment practices coverage
- Experienced Claims counsel
- Four-tier rate scale
This new plan will help educators protect themselves against risks within classrooms, teaching and research laboratories and community outreach activities. The plan provides broad coverage to address the exposures of high school, undergrad and instructional staff and faculty employed by private, public, charter and higher educational institutions. I encourage you to visit the Chemical Educators Legal Liability page for more information or call 888-437-7008.Sincerely,
William H. (Jack) Breazeale, Jr.Chair, The Board of TrusteesGroup Insurance Plans for ACS Members
