No! The reputable manufacturers would be doing a filter analysis for the proposed use of their products once you contact them about a purchase. Having talked
to many of them about what can and shouldn’t be used in these- none of them have recommend their products for use with digestions or heavy acid use. This is not the niche for this type of equipment and filter systems, especially charcoal filters. Even Erlab,
who makes one of, if not the best and most advanced, product in this category has said emphatically “…no…” when asked about this.
If you want to pursue this, contact the vendor to do a filter analysis for the proposed use. It should provide info on how long their filters would last, etc.
I would be surprised if anyone said yes.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] ductless fume hoods for acid digestion
Good morning all! I have to take a minute to get some additional opinions on a topic. I've been approached to provide my 2 cents on the appropriateness of using a ductless
fume hood for acid digestion (preparing samples for analysis via AA). This would be for use in an industrial quality lab.
I have my opinion; what is yours?
Thanks!
