Iowa State University is seeking qualified applicants for an Environmental Programs (EP) Manager within the Department of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S). The EP Manager will be responsible for the direction and planning of campus efforts to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize environmental risk and protect human health and the environment. This position establishes compliance systems on and off campus for all existing federal, state and local environmental regulations in academic, support and administrative settings. Degree and area of specialization:
Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental/Public Health or related field
License/certification:
Certified Industrial Hygienist required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

5 years experience. Industrial hygiene or environmental health experience involving workplace health and safety, chemical exposure monitoring and health risk research and evaluation desired.

The well qualified applicant will:
* Have demonstrated experience in conducting health hazard assessment in one or more of these settings: large academic campus, research facility or research laboratory facility.
* Clearly demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills
* Experience in industrial hygiene program management
* Be physically capable of conducting essential job functions while wearing personal protective equipment including respiratory protection.
* Demonstrated ability in interpretation and implementation of programs to meet OSHA (or State equivalent) regulations
* Experience in in system management addressing one or more of the American Public Health Association 10 Essential Public Health Services
* Have engaged in a defined, organized interaction with Occupational Medicine delivery, including experience with HIPAA compliant electronic report monitoring/delivery systems
