I have been asked to post the following questions for the group to respond. Please send the response to me privately and I will compile the answers and post.
1) Are fume hoods being tested at your institution using face velocity or another method?
2) Have you set a limit on the sash height (12 or 18 inches) or other height?
2a) If so, are you conducting the face velocity at that height? 2b) Are you testing the hood at full open as well?
3) If you are using face velocity, has an "acceptable range" been established? If so: 3a) What is that range? 3b) What is the procedure if the face velocity is outside of that range?
