I don't know if it is a "lab skill" so much as a necessary skill for
doing lab calculations, but I would add using a scientific
calculator for exponents, logs, etc.� Also, using volumetric
glassware to prepare solutions.� This might be asking too much, as
most high schools have limited resources.

What others should be on the list?- using a bunsen burner- writing a laboratory report- titration- Pipeting- smelling a liquid- Heating materials- mixing liquids and solids- Transferring liquids- Using a triple beam balance- measuring to the proper significant figuresOK - I am working on a few different things all of which require a listing of basic laboratory skills for general chemistry - i.e. those things they should have learned in high school science.� There is no definitive list out there - and in fact - I am not finding a good one at all.Here is my list:
