The only report I can give is what's been published:

An explosion during a routine science experiment at Stony Brook University injured two people, university officials said Thursday.

The blast happened in a laboratory inside the Earth and Space Sciences Building at about 4:30 p.m., university spokeswoman Lauren Sheprow said, adding there was minor damage to an interior wall of the lab.

A faculty member and a graduate student suffered minor injuries and were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where they were listed in "good" condition, she said.

According to a statement from the university, the building was evacuated and partially reopened about 8 p.m. Sheprow said there was no risk to anyone else in or around the campus as a result of the explosion.
