Nope, not necessary. å å å å TFA has covalent C-F bonds; å HF will not be generable under any reasonable lab conditions I can imagine... (I was a synthesis chemist for 22 years & have worked with extensively).å å å å It is a very strong acid, though, & volatile to boot (resp hazard), so you‰??ll want to make sure folks are aware of those hazards...
