Nadejda,
In my previous employment within Pharma under Preclinical Development, I worked with Cytotoxins on a daily basis. Aside from the PAPR, dedicated fume hoods & equipment We
had a I/D rating system (I=inhalation, D=Dermal). But we also assigned the ratings based on LD50 values that were provided to us.
But I agree with Margaret in the need for additional clarification. Keep in mind that high hazard and toxic are not the same, although many people use them as if they were
equivalent.
I’ll try to lend any assistance in regards to your query.
Sincerely,
George

Subject: Re: [DCHAS-L] Question: working with high potent compounds
Hi Nadia,
I don't know if others have responded privately to you but if you haven't had any responses it might be because (at least to me) I am unsure of what you mean by 'high potent" chemicals. Do you mean highly (or acutely) toxic? Do you mean
'potent' in terms of pharmaceutical properties? Or something else entirely?
Please disregard my inquiry if you have already received some assistance off-line.
Margaret

Hi all,
I am just trying to find some information regarding high potent compounds, how they classify, what that mean in term of toxicology, exposure limits, rules to follow when working with this kind of molecules.
Does anyone have a policy for working with high potent chemicals.
Thanks in advance,
Nadia
