Here is an interesting one from TCI (2013). They seem to know less
now about this chemical than Eastman did in 2005. Hmmmm...

Section II;Acute toxicity data, if available, are listed below. Additional toxicity data may be available on request.Oral LD-50:(rat) 825 mg/kgDermal LD-50: ( rat) >2,000 mg/mgSkin Irritation (rabbit) strongSkin Sensitization: (guinea pig) noneSo it is toxic (500-5000 mg/kg), and an irritant. This must be Eastman's own since I don't see it elsewhere. And I think I'll write to Eastman for the "additional toxicity data." I've looked and looked for chronic anything on it.Monona Rossol, M.S., M.F.A., Industrial HygienistPresident: Arts, Crafts & Theater Safety, Inc.Safety Officer: Local USA829, IATSE181 Thompson St., #23New York, NY 10012 212-777-0062

According to FEMA and West Virginia Div of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the "crude" chemical was spilled. They have a link to the following MSDS: http://mediad.publicbroadcasting.net/p/wvpn/files/201401/MSDS-MCHM_I140109214955.pdf#!

Sent from my iPadFYI, the Elk River where the chemical spilled into, is a tributary that eventually leads into the Ohio River, then into the Mississippi. I had wondered if it was coming my way down the Potomac River. JLFrom: DCHAS-L Discussion List [mailto:dchas-l**At_Symbol_Here**MED.CORNELL.EDU] On Behalf Of Melissa Charlton-Smith
