Provides leadership in all areas of campus environmental health and safety. Responsible for the anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of environmental factors in the workplace that may result in injury, illness, impairment or affect the well-being of workers and members of the Villanova University community.
With a goal to keep employees and students healthy and safe, the Director ensures that the University complies with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
* B.S. degree in environmental health or closely related science field is required. An advanced degree(s) in environmental health, safety or a closely related field is desired.
* At least 5 years of experience in a position of authority & responsibility in environmental health & safety field is required.
* General knowledge of all areas related to environmental health & safety as they apply to the University setting. This includes: regulatory compliance issues; Toxic Substance and Control Act (TSCA) for asbestos, lead paint and PCB management, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)'s Hazard Communication Standard, Spill Prevention Counter Measures and Control (SPCC), OSHA Lab Standards, hazardous waste management, asbestos management, mold remediation, Tier II chemical management, DOT hazardous material transportation and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)'s 70E Arch Flash Protection.
