This is a difficult question.  In my experience, disciplinary actions are driven by supervisors and Human Resources.  Safety Managers should not be disciplinarians, rather resources to prevent exposures, et.al., in the first place.  You can’t be everywhere at one time, and if I choose not to follow the rules…

That being said, there should be some guidance from the Laboratory Mgr. or HR as to what the disciplinary action should be case by case.

Hello,

I am interested in learning about approaches folks are using to ensure that graduate researches comply with PPE policies.  Most of the information out there stipulates that disciplinary actions will be taken against individuals who fail to comply with gowning policies but such information doesn’t explicitly state the nature and type of disciplinary action.
