Norm,
I have always preferred laboratory safety/splash googles to safety glasses. Uvex makes a couple of different styles. Besides being impact resistant, they hug the profile or contour of the face very effectively
and prevent virtually all entry of splashes from top, bottom or sides. They are indirectly vented, strap adjustable, and lightweight (polycarbonate plastic impervious to most chemicals). I believe they are worth the extra few dollars.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] safety glasses for non-caucasian scientists
Hi All,
We have a large number of students of Asian or African descent and we have noticed that safety glasses often do not fit their faces well leaving significant gaps and generally falling off their faces due to variations in nose shape. Does
anyone have any suggestions as to better solutions for safety glasses for these people?
Thanks,
