Kyle,
You may also want to review which solvents are stored there. Our NMR only has the essential solvents nearby, which are DMSO, Chloroform, and D2O. None of which are flammable to the extent that require special storaging containers. All our other solvents are so specialized and rarely used that they are stored in the stockroom in a flammable cabinet mainly to keep students from using them accidently as they are more expensive.
Reorganization might be the lowest cost solution.
Cheers,
Mike

Subject: [DCHAS-L] small explosion proof refrigerators
We have an area near our new NMR where we will be storing deuterated organic solvents. I have convinced my colleague who is in charge of the NMR that we can't use a simple dorm fridge for storing the small volumes of solvents. But I would love to follow up with him on any iinfo all of you could provide about inexpensive small (5 cu ft) flammable storage refrigerators or explosion proof fridges.
Grateful for any help,
Kyle Strode
