You probably do not need an explosion proof refrigerator. A flammable storage refrigerator is less expensive, and will protect its contents from ignition. A more expensive explosion proof refrigerator is needed only when the outside area surrounding the refrigerator contains flammable vapors.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] small explosion proof refrigerators
We have an area near our new NMR where we will be storing deuterated organic solvents. I have convinced my colleague who is in charge of the NMR that we can't use a simple dorm fridge for storing the small volumes of solvents. But I would love to follow up with him on any iinfo all of you could provide about inexpensive small (5 cu ft) flammable storage refrigerators or explosion proof fridges.
