Jyllian,

This is a YouTube video which does an excellent job of describing the structure and function of a lab fume hood. Because it’s animated, it’s able to highlight individual items and show scenarios which are difficult to visualize. I’m recommending
this to all introductory students as a good use for 8 minutes.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Lab safety video collection
Hi all,
Is anyone aware of an online library of publicly-accessible lab safety videos from multiple sources?
Assuming that no one else is keeping one, I'm considering putting together a collection at the Safety Zone that I would try to keep updated. If you know of a good video that I should include, please feel free
to send me the link. Already on my list:
Northwestern on flame-resistant lab coats http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quTegBMio6U, liquid nitrogen, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGMgl-O4M5M,
and compressed gas cylinder regulators, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOvwDbNDdWA
Thank you!
Jyllian
