Instead of a specific response, I refer you and the other members of the list serve to the many safety guidelines (some by government agencies in collaboration with the user community) that have been written about working safely with engineered nanomaterials. See the Reference Documents at the bottom of the web page at http://nano.anl.gov/events/workshops/enm/index.html. In the rather long list, I recommend initially consulting the first two: the NIOSH and NRC documents.

Dear members,
Does anyone have a source on a containment system for safely weighing dry nanomaterial? A chemical hood is usually too turbulent for the accuracy of a Mettler balance. Any thought you have including precaution(s) to take for this type of work would be appreciated.
