Blue M was acquired by General Signal Corp and merged into Lindbergh to form Lindbergh Blue M around 1982, and that is now owned by SPX.  Their furnace line is here http://www.thermalproductsolutions.com/brand/bluem.aspx?tid=1

Looks like the water bath line went to Thermo Electron which merged with Fisher: http://www.thermoscientific.com/ecomm/servlet/productsdetail_11152___12710559_-1  So I'd start by contacting them.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission doesn't appear to have anything on these units: http://cpsc.gov/  As far as I can tell, it looks like they might have jurisdiction, and you can file incident reports online.

Here are some water bath fire reports, not specific to this model; further research may be warranted:

We had a water bath fire this week and the Fire Department investigation has raised the question of whether this unit has been recalled by the manufacturer. The model is:

Water Bath Unit
Manufacturer: Blue M Electric Company
Model #: MW-11110-A-1

Has anyone heard of this particular unit being involved in a recall? Google searches haven't produced any information about this, but I thought that people in the lab safety community might know of other sources of such information.

Thanks for any help with this.
