For posting to the DCHAS Community:
There is great opportunity this summer for the Nanotechnology Community. We keep hearing that EHS needs to be an integral component of everyone's business plan, and that
is very true. From the very beginning of its program, NIOSH has conducted research and has created partnerships that support and promote responsible devilment of nanotechnology so that our nanotech businesses can succeed and society can realize all the great
benefits this technology has to offer. In August, NIOSH will partner with the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering to conduct a workshop on Safe Nano Design, August 14-16 in Albany, NY. This workshop will share information from industry leaders on
two key fronts: designing safer nanomaterials; and designing safer facilities, processes and tasks for making and using nanomaterials. A unique feature of this workshop is that it will be the first time that material synthesizers, toxicologists, material scientists,
facility designers, EHS experts, and business managers have been brought together at a common venue to share success stories and develop guidance on the strength of using a Prevention through Design approach to advance nanotechnology.
Registration and hotel information as well as an agenda can be found at the workshop website:

Registration is open and space is limited, so don’t miss out on this opportunity.
