I would like to dispose of some growth media we use in our labs.  They use : A5955 -

with 10,000 units penicillin, 10 mg streptomycin and 25 μg amphotericin B per mL, sterile-filtered, BioReagent, suitable for cell culture

from Sigma at a 1% solution (I think).  It doesn’t meet Washington state requirements as hazardous waste but I don’t like the idea of dumping approximately 50 gallons of this down the drain each month.  I know this country has already encountered troubles with antibiotic resistant bacteria from misuse and disposal of unused medications/antibiotics down the drain I don’t want to contribute to the problem.

So what should I do with this stuff?
