Alice, LSI believes that this awareness must begin in elementary
schools.
One of the reasons that we have the current state of affairs is that we
don't start early enough to teach children to care about health, safety and
the environment. We don't teach them how to identify hazards and protect
themselves. ... Jim

Ken, you have a point. The universities are a place
where the awareness of health and safety begins in a scientist career be it
that they stay in academic or go on to industry. Maybe this is a wake up call
to the universities to really teach safety to their students and not justto
fulfill a requirement.
