We use the Garaventa Evacu-Trac Chairs and a soft stretcher. It seems to be easiest. Here are the links: http://www.evacutrac.com/ http://www.morrisonmed.com/Soft_Stretcher_Info&Comp.pdf Our procedure is to have employee transfer over to the chair with a soft stretcher underneath them so that when they get their wheel chair, 4 people can just lift them from the evacuation chair into the chair. We=92ve used this process several times when we have to evacuate a wheel-ch air bound employee. -Alice On Tue, Jun 14, 2011 at 1:12 PM, Kennedy, Sheila

We need to accommodate a whee lchair-bound student in a 3rd-floor lab this Fall, so we=92re lo oking at the purchase of an evacuation chair. From what I=92ve seen so far, the idea is to transfer the mobility-restricted worker/student to the evac uation chair; another worker/student/staff member then =91walks=92 the chai r down the stairs. Features & prices vary.
Does anyone have experience to share ab out these devices?
