In the chemical lab: Chemical labeling and its use in identifying the hazards: TA's and Students seem to never bother reading MSDS's even though we always enforce it in our training so proper labels can warn TA's rather quickly as to the hazard they are working with. PPE: Students need a thorough explanation of the proper type and use of PPE. Gloves for example, they think all gloves offer equal protection. Hazardous Waste: How and where it is collected is crucial as an uninformed TA can have disastrous results by mixing the wrong waste together or improperly dumping it to the drains.
