[DCHAS-L] Peroxide formers
There will probably some discussion on this, but
anecdotal data seems to indicate that an anhydrous peroxide-former tends
to form peroxides faster than one that is hydrated or at least
contaminated with a little water. You didn=92t ask but watch
out for anesthetic grade diethyl ether in =BC pound cans. Often times the only
inhibitor is a copper lining in the can. The lining is probably
good for weeks to months, maybe a year. Unfortunately, a lot of
those small cans are tucked away for years to decades.
