Our procedure for art schools that do cyanide plating or other cyanide processes is to have a sit down talk with people in the nearest hospital about emergency response. We obviously can't trust our art people to do this, so if the hospital is aware, they can probably get someone there with a kit almost as fast as someone on site could be alerted and get to the person.
If the school is in New York, that's easy because the diamond district has a lot of illegal "bombing" going on. This is when they mix solutions of sodium cyanide and concentrated hydrogen peroxide to take the cast residues off gold and other metals. Sure works fast! The midtown hospitals have experience with cyanide exposure incidents.

Does anyone have an opinion or experience with kits for people working with cyanides? My understanding is that some people have had difficulty obtaining amyl nitrite (?) kits.
