It’s great to hear these stories from the past- I, too, recall extremely cold days at UMass when the locks o n my ’68 Mustang would freeze-  solution?  Squirt acetone in the lock chamber, followed by ignition-  instant access!

So is it worrisome that old(er) chemis ts did such crazy things, and now we preach the gospel of Chemical Health & ; Safety?

Must be Friday afternoon….I still use it in my snow blower (as an aerosol).

Ether in the g love compartment brings back memories of “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas&# 8221; by Hunter Thompson……”never trust a man in the midst of an ether binge!”…those that have read it will understand.

I remember the blue flames also, but coming out of a 1970 or so VW Bug!  Lost my facial ha ir (including eyebrows) once there!
