Subject: Re: Eye protection in chemistry labs

Chris Suznovich,
As a publisher of a small newsletter for 25 years, 8 books and piles of articles, I totally agree.   If I write or publish anything that my readers find is in error, I want to hear about it.  And I will publish a retraction and do my damnest never to do it again.  C&EN has heard from several of us many times on this issue, no retraction, no nothing.  Sorry, but there really is no good excuse for this.    And it is not just some technical error, it is an error that can lead to people wearing the wrong gear and coming to harm.  Enough.  Monona Rossol

I would completely disagree that C&EN should not be held accountable for publishing ads with poor safety practices or any type of misleading information.
