Waste is hazardous when generated (provided it meets the definition of solid waste, which this will). Keeping the butyl lithium as commercial chemical product to be used is okay (speculative accumulation is allowed in this case), but the moment the decision is made to dispose of it, this butyl lithium becomes a hazardous waste (and all rules apply). Also understand that you=92ve described that the lab =93does not want to use and is trying to dispose=85=94 It sounds like the decision has already been made. Get your EHS department involved.
