Julie, Definitely look at SW-846, "Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste, Physical/Chemical Methods", found here: http://www.epa.gov/waste/hazard/testmethods/index.htm I would also look to the POTW that you discharge to and coordinate your methods with them. Unless you ship your wastewater off site, you are definitely regulated and probably have to comply with a discharge permit and some various federal categorical pre- and post- treatment standards. We are a metal fabrication facility in Indiana, and need to test for Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Lead, Nickel, Silver, and Zinc. I have been tasked with investigating methods and equipment that will be required. Can anyone in this group share their experience/knowledge in testing for metal concentrations in wastewater? What methods do you use? What works best? Are there additional resources that you can point me towards?
