aka [CAS 90229-46-2] Hello All, Are there any special precautions regarding the disposal of guanidine thiocyanate solution? If you use this compound, what is your disposal method? From the MSDS it appears sewerable; but the MSDS data on the Incompatibility With Other Substances as Not Available. A senior researcher mentioned that this compound produces toxic gas when it contacts bleach or other oxidizers - substances typically found in sewer lines of a microbiology lab - and that's what I need to check up on. We're talking about liter quantities **At_Symbol_Here** 50% - 60% solutions. Thanks, Eric Eric Clark, MS, CCHO, CHMM Safety Officer, Los Angeles County Public Health Lab
