If you are not already an acetonitrile customer, no vendoers will accept
orders for that material anymore. They are operating on a quota system
now, with each customer being issued a quota'd amount equal to their
purchasing history.

Does anyone have any news about when the plant that makes the acetonitrile
will come back online?

What about any news from the FDA? Are they entertaining alternatives for
acetonitrile for use in submitted and approved test methods?

Seems to me that whoever comes up with a workable alternative solvent will
definitely have more than their 15 minutes of fame!

Re: [DCHAS-L] Procuring Acetonitrile

Lizzette, You are definitely not alone.

My suggestion is to contact your primary vendor. Otherwise, I might
suggest EMD, VWR, or Aldrich.

Hope this helps.
