Subject: RE: [DCHAS-L] Removing PPE When Leaving Chem Labs Date: Thu, 6 Nov 2008 From: "Halim A. Hasan"It's in our Chemical Hygiene Plan, but I've had no luck in getting compliance with it. Our parent company has had tremendous success in promoting the removal of PPE, and has said that it is just a matter of changing the culture. I wish it were that easy. I've tried almost everything (even reporting people), but it truly needs management support...at all levels. VP's will "yes" you to death, but not stress the importance among middle managers. I'm currently working with our new executive VP to get this total buy-in, because we have employees who complain to me, and I tell them that I don't know what so-and-so was working with and if it's safe to touch the elevator button. I keep trying though. I'd appreciate any good responses on this as well. Thanks in advance. Please send me any information you may have in the future regarding this issue. This is in place for all our labs and written in our CHP. They are not to be stored in the office areas or worn to the bathroom or break room. The challenge is enforcing the rule. Natalie Salov Taxolog Inc. The contents of the box is autoclaved when full.
