We use a sharepoint program that was developed by a company called EH&E for our chemical inventory (and lots of other data). They provide the templates and then we set the fields. If you have excel it is quickly downloaded. Campus access to the database is by password and people can have permission to just look or to change data. It was been sucessful for us and was used to determine our applicability to the DHS Rule. Here is their website http://www.eheinc.com/. Let me know if you would like more info. ceeds in doing this by providing the management systems to insure that the inventories are updated monthly by the lab owner. Universities frequently lack the disciplined management to make this happen.
