Although a heat wheel may be a useful item from a sustainability standpoint for office air, I can think that for a lab this may be a problem. I think you can consider the molecular sieve heat recovery wheels for the lab general exhaust but I have reservations about using a heat wheel for any type of fume hood exhaust. The general exhaust air can be recycled, the fume hood exhaust air should not be recycled. No matter how large the purge zone on the heat wheel, there will be some amount of material returning from the exhaust air stream. In addition the chemicals in the fume hood exhaust air stream will attach the heat wheel and damage the wheel. What guaranty can you get from the manufacturer against corrosion and fouling in an exhaust stream? -- Allan Kamen AF Air Control Limited China Economic Trade Building 24th Floor, Suites I-K 7 Zizhu Road ZhuZiLin, FuTian District, Shenzhen, China 518040 tel: +86 755 2694 2015 fax: +86 755 2694 2317 mob: +86 135 1034 0687
