The call for papers is out for a symposium sponsored by the ACS Division of Chemical Health and Safety in which we want to talk about the ways people go about conducting hazard and risk assessments including the used of control banding in those assessments. It's a wide category, so lots of topics would fit under this category. I would be particularly interested in sharing ways we assess the hazards and risks for laboratory (and non-laboratory chemical users for that matter) and prepare them to go to work. What does that process look like and what do you think are the critical pieces of making that process work well? If you are interested in presenting a paper in this symposium, please, submit an abstract through OASYS (http://oasys.acs.org/acs/235nm/oasys.htm) or contact me directly at the number or e-mail address below. Abstracts are accepted through October 28th.
