Please respond directly to Terri Bechta (tbechta**At_Symbol_Here**ehs.umass.edu) .Thanks in advance for your help in this matter. Yung M. (pmorgan**At_Symbol_Here**ehs.umass.edu) ___________________________________ Subject: Recessed eye wash stations We currently have specified for our new science building the Guardian Equipment GBF2150 Recessed Safety Eye/Face Wash Stations. Pulling down on the handle and opening cover pulls spray head assembly down from vertical to horizontal position, activating water flow. While unit is in operation, waste water is collected in the drain pan and returned into cabinet for drainage. Unit remains in operation until cover is returned to closed position. This may be aesthetically pleasing, but I am afraid that the units will flood the room when opened, leak behind the walls, not dry fully enclosed behind the walls (contamination), and because the unit is recessed will tend to be blocked and not tested. Has anyone installed these types of units and were there problems with them? Thanks Terri Bechta ___________________________________ Theresa W.
