I recently discovered a feature of the newest version of the LISTSERV software that runs the DCHAS-L list that I thought some subscribers may be interested in. LISTSERV automatically provides an RSS feed of list traffic (in three versions). In many web browsers, this means that the browser will monitor the SAFETY home web page at feed://list.uvm.edu/cgi-bin/wa?RSS&L=DCHAS-L&v=1.0 and alert you to changes to this list on a regular basis that you select, similar to a blog. Thus, rather than receiving DCHAS-L via e-mail, you can read it as a web page and avoid cluttering up your e-mail box. It still makes sense to have your e-mail address subscribed to the list so that you can avoid the confirmation requirement for non-list subscribers, but if the RSS feed works for your purposes, you could set the subscription to NOMAIL to avoid unnecessary e-mail traffic. I'd be real interested in any comments people have about this feature. Let me know if you have any questions about this. - Ralph Ralph Stuart, CIH Environmental Safety Manager University of Vermont Environmental Safety Facility 667 Spear St. Burlington, VT 05405 rstuart**At_Symbol_Here**uvm.edu fax: (802)656-8682 Ralph Stuart, CIH Secretary, ACS Division of Chemical Health and Safety Environmental Safety Facility 667 Spear St. Burlington, VT 05405 rstuart**At_Symbol_Here**uvm.edu
