The University of Central Florida and University of Colorado at Boulder to Host Regional EH&S Seminars Mark your calendar and plan to attend the upcoming CSHEMA-PRIZIM Regional Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Seminar at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Florida April 16th-17th, 2007. (As a side note, for those of you in the west, a Regional EH&S Seminar is also be planned for June 18th-19th, 2007, hosted by University of Colorado at Boulder. Watch for future postings with details about this seminar.) These seminars are designed for anyone with an interest in campus and laboratory health and safety, risk management, or environmental compliance. People from educational institutions or laboratory-based organizations - either small or large - will benefit from attending. The UCF seminar will be held at the Live Oak Ballroom at UCF, and easily accessible from Orlando International Airport. The program will include a conference, from Noon to 5 p.m. on April 16th, and 8 a.m. to Noon on April 17th, on a variety of contemporary topics presented by invited speakers. The conference will be followed by an afternoon workshop focused on the opportunities and challenges inherent in integrating EH&S and Risk Management programs. You can choose to attend the conference or, the half-day workshop from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. on the 17th, or both. The overall theme of the seminar will be the intersection of EH&S and risk management spheres. A featured presentation by the widely known university EH&S leader, Dr. Robert Emery, will focus on how universities operate and what this means for effective management of institutional risks. Dr. Emery is Assistant Vice President of EH&S, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
