I checked with my staff member who does this and was told that the State has given us guidance to use the EPA List of Lists (Publication EPA 550-B-01-003 October 2001). We don't report sand piles or rock salt. With respect to your other questions, EHS prepares and signs the forms that are submitted to the State--we don't report to EPA. Our LEPC is fairly active and we have a representative on it. A number of my staff have been able to arrange for the LEPC to cover the costs of HAZWOPER training and there is talk of arranging a hazmat experience on campus with LEPC involvement later this year. --Peter -----Original Message----- From: DCHAS-L Discussion List [mailto:DCHAS-L**At_Symbol_Here**LIST.UVM.EDU] On Behalf Of List Moderator Sent: Monday, February 12, 2007 8:05 PM To: DCHAS-L**At_Symbol_Here**LIST.UVM.EDU Subject: [DCHAS-L] Tier 2 Reporting From: stefan.w**At_Symbol_Here**uconn.edu Subject: RE: [DCHAS-L] Tier 2 Reporting Date: February 12, 2007 3:37:48 PM EST (CA) To all: This is the time of year when I start to prepare my Tier 2 reports, and, this being the Northeast, Region 1 EPA tends to be strict about what is being reported, so I include sand piles & rock salt because of the 10,000 lb rule, as well as ammonia, gasoline, & fuel oil, and others. First question: Is anyone willing to share their list of "chemicals" they are reporting under Tier 2? Second: In your Research Institution, who prepares the Tier 2? Third: How active is your LEPC, and is your institution represented? Last: Who signs the Tier 2, if different from the preparer? Thank you ..... -Stefan Wawzyniecki, CIH, CHMM NRCC CHO
