The division of Chemical Health and Safety invites you to submit a paper
for our upcoming meeting in Boston in August 2007. To submit abstracts,
please access the CHAS symposia at
http://oasys.acs.org/acs/234nm/access.html clicking on CHAS in the pick
list.

Symposia we are organizing include:

Awards Symposium- In addition to acknowledging the recipients of the
CHAS awards, this is a great opportunity for presenting papers in
traditional areas of Chemical Health & Safety such as laboratory
ventilation, and working safely with chemicals.

Safety in NanoTechnology Research- organized by David Bunzow & Kim
Jeskie; Although nanotechnology research has become an established
arena, safety & health issues are not always keeping up.

Teaching Safety - Learning by Accident: Organized by George Wahl and
Tom Murdock. Many times, the most effective training occurs when there
has been an unexpected outcome. Did you have an incident that
precipated change in your organization? Is there an occurrence that you
use in your training that's illustrative of a 'what not to do?' Have you
had an incident you'd like to share with the wider health and safety
community, in hopes that others can learn?

RCRA 2007 & Other Compliance Issues: Organized by Russell Phifer &
Erik Talley. This symposium will provide updates and insights on
environmental, healthy, & safety regulations. Speakers from academia,
government, and consulting firms are expected to provide their
expertise.
