To CHAS members:

As the CHAS liaison to the Committee on Chemical Safety (CCS), I have
been asked to remind you that CCS, as part of its alliance with OSHA,
is helping to coordinate a joint ACS/OSHA booth at the Spring 2007
ACS National Meeting in Chicago. The idea for this booth is to
provide meeting attendees with an opportunity to find out about ACS
and OSHA activities related to reactive chemical hazards management
and its alliance. Resources from OSHA and CCS, as well as CHAS (if we
wish), will be displayed and distributed.

A representative from OSHA's Chicago region, Mr. Bill Coulehan, will
be manning the booth throughout the expo. In addition, he hopes to
have one or more volunteers from CCS at the booth throughout the
period. That way, attendees will be able to get good answers to their
questions about either organization.
Because CCS members will be at a business meeting on Monday, March 26
from 9 AM to12:30 PM, and not available to volunteer at the booth,
CCS is asking if a member of CHAS would be willing to spend a few
hours at the booth at that time.

If you can offer some time, please send Robert Rich a
response before Wednesday, January 31, so that he can coordinate a
schedule. It should be a fun and interesting opportunity to interact
with ACS members and share what CCS is all about.
