The division of Chemical Health and Safety invites you to submit a paper for our upcoming meeting in Chicago in March, 2007. To submit abstracts, please access the CHAS symposia at http://oasys.acs.org/acs/233nm/oasys.htm, clicking on CHAS in the pick list. Symposia we are organizing include: Teaching Safety - Learning by Accident: Organized by George Wahl and Tom Murdock. Many times, the most effective training occurs when there has been an unexpected outcome. Did you have an incident that precipated change in your organization? Is there an occurrence that you use in your training that's illustrative of a 'what not to do?' Have you had an incident you'd like to share with the wider health and safety community, in hopes that others can learn? Special Regulatory Requirements for Chemical Security: Organized by Kim Jeskie and Neal Langerman. This symposium will focus on chemical security initiatives and the best practices to achieve compliance. Share your lessons learned and your creative solutions to this very important issue. Safety and Health in Small Chemical Businesses: Co-Sponsored with the Division of Small Chemical Business. This symposium will be a broad-based opportunity for owners of small chemical businesses to share their health and safety programs, to hear from the industry about products and services that might be helpful to small chemical businesses, and to discuss regulatory issues and challenges unique to small chemical businesses. Please consider submitting a paper - we'd love to hear from you! Debbie Decker Spring Meeting Program Chair DivCHAS - American Chemical Society ---------------------- Debbie M.
