Thanks, Jason If 29CFR1910.134 kicks in, then it's my understanding that all the requirements of that section apply. I don't believe you can wear a loose fitting hood. I understand you need a positive pressure respirator. No leakage. Also, the "Buddy System" kicks in. The Buddy also has to be equipped and trained to execute a rescue, if needed. Whenever there is a potential for an IDLH atmosphere, or if the hazard is unknown, 29CFR1910.134 applies, to my understanding.
